​Julia joined the real estate industry as a licensed NJ Realtor after fourteen years' experience in the interior design field. A professional interior designer - she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City – and worked for various architects and interior designers in NYC and New Jersey. With Julia's interior design experience, she is a great resource to clients considering renovation of their future homes and preparing their homes for sale, including staging. Julia was born and grew up in Saratov, Russia, a city on the Volga River more than 400 years old and a major Russian cultural center. Prior to moving to the United States, she earned a Master’s degree in English as a Second Language from Saratov State University, and worked for eight years as a translator and grant administrator for the US Peace Corps. Julia's exposure to people of diverse cultural backgrounds, her extensive travel (in Russia and abroad) help her understand her clients' backgrounds and respond to their needs. Growing up in a city rich in history, Julia has always been interested in old objects that tell a story - be it a piece of furniture or a building or a piece of textile. In the United States, she and her husband stripped and refinished all the woodwork in their house in Maplewood. Julia was the project manager of the massive 3-year renovation of their house in North Plainfield, a 140-year -old Italianate located in the historic district of Washington Park. She knows first-hand how to work successfully with city administrations, historic commissions and contractors. Her renovation and project management experience will be at her clients' disposal, whether they are selling a home or buying a new one. Prior to their move, Julia and her husband Donald were residents of Maplewood for almost 20 years. Julia and Donald work throughout Essex, Union, Somerset, Monmouth, Morris, Passaic and Middlesex  counties, and can search a broader area for buyers..
